What is Backlink?

Turkish: Backlink

A backlink is a link from another site that can signal trust, topical relevance, and authority to search engines.

A backlink is a link from one website to another. Search engines can interpret backlinks not only as paths for traffic, but also as signals of trust and topical relationship between sources.

Links can be marked as dofollow, nofollow, sponsored, or UGC. An editorial link from an industry publication is not equivalent to a profile link left in a forum. Topic relevance, page context, natural anchor text, and the trustworthiness of the linking site all affect quality.

Large numbers of low-quality or manipulative links can create ranking risk instead of ranking value.

Business Use

Good backlink work combines content, digital PR, industry directories, and partnerships to build brand visibility, referral traffic, and search authority. In SEO, backlinks should be evaluated alongside technical health and content quality. Metrics such as domain authority are useful indicators, but they should not be the only decision factor.

A healthy link profile depends on naturally earned links, relevant sources, and periodic review of harmful links.
