What is e-Fatura?

Turkish: e-Fatura

e-Fatura is Turkey's GİB-regulated electronic invoice format, commonly integrated with ERP and accounting systems for automated processing.

What is e-Fatura?

e-Fatura is Turkey’s official electronic invoice format governed by GİB, the Turkish Revenue Administration. It is not a scanned paper invoice; it is a structured digital document that follows required XML standards, buyer-seller fields, and legal delivery rules.

Companies that fall under the e-Fatura scope send and receive invoices through the GİB system, a certified private integrator, or direct integration. When connected to accounting, ERP, e-commerce, and inventory systems, the process reduces manual invoice entry.

How the e-Fatura Process Works

  • A sale or service record is created in an ERP or e-commerce system.
  • Invoice data is converted into the format expected by GİB.
  • The document is prepared with the required authorization and signing process.
  • It is sent to the buyer through GİB or a certified integrator.
  • Acceptance, rejection, error, and archive statuses are written back to the business system.

Business Use

e-Fatura integration becomes important for companies with high sales volume, dealer networks, e-commerce operations, or multiple accounting workflows. When the order-to-invoice flow is designed well, inventory, customer accounts, collections, and reporting stay aligned.

Key details include invoice number generation, cancellation and return scenarios, error code monitoring, status synchronization with accounting software, and legal retention periods. For that reason, e-Fatura is often designed together with invoice automation and accounting integration.

At Barlas Dijital, e-Fatura workflows are modeled within accounting integration projects alongside orders, customer accounts, and reporting needs.
